October Monthly Updates for model-driven apps

Release Channel information for your model-driven app

  • With 2024 release wave 2, the Dynamics 365 environments are changing to treat Auto app release channel as Monthly. Admins and makers can select Semi-annual if they need the slower cadence.
  • Model-driven apps running in Power Platform environments with the app release channel value of Auto already use monthly channel as of 2024 release wave 1.
  • Monthly release schedule

Oct 2024 (release 2410)

Real-time In-App Notifications

In-app notifications will be shown to users quickly since a real-time notification indicates a new notification has been received. Any in-app notifications sent while the user was away will be retrieved on app start. To ensure reliability, in-app notifications will continue to be checked with the notification polling.

  • Target Semi-Annual Release: 2025 Release Wave 1
New look always on

The new look is moving to be always on for users in monthly channel. The new look toggle in the header is removed and the user always see the modern experience. Makers can switch users to the classic look without the toggle using switch apps to classic. This classic look override is targeted to be removed with 2025 release wave 2. This changes was also announced in Use the modern, refreshed look in model-driven apps.

  • Target Semi-Annual Release: 2025 Release Wave 1
